In Partnership with the MHPSS Technical Group, GCMHP Conducts a Training on "Psychological First Aid"

In partnership with the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Technical Group, GCMHP conducted a training titled "Psychological First Aid" targeting humanitarian workers. The training was held at the Al-Wafa Hospital auditorium in Gaza City.

This training was part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the capacities of field staff in the mental health sector. It aimed to develop participants skills in providing psychological first aid and enhancing their response to the needs of individuals affected by crises and conflicts. The sessions covered the principles of psychological first aid and emphasized effective communication skills to provide initial psychological support during emergencies.

The training also sought to equip participants to deliver professional mental health services that ensure a rapid and comprehensive response to the psychological needs of affected communities, while promoting individual and community resilience amid ongoing humanitarian challenges.

At the conclusion of the training, participants expressed their appreciation for the content and its relevance in enhancing their practical skills, emphasizing the importance of continuing such joint initiatives to ensure effective and sustainable psychological support that improves the lives of individuals and communities in need.
