GCMHP conducted a specialized training session via Zoom on the Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) approach and its applications with children. The training, which was attended by a number of psychologists working within the program, is part of GCMHP's ongoing efforts to develop the skills of its professional staff and enhance the quality of mental health services provided to children.
The training covered the fundamental principles of the ACT approach and how to implement it with children using methods and tools tailored to their needs. This approach aims to enhance children's ability to understand their feelings and thoughts, develop psychological resilience and self-awareness, and cope with stress and emotions in a healthy way.
The training also focused on practical applications and interactive methods that support acceptance skills, awareness of the present moment, and value identification. These skills help children develop more adaptive responses to challenges and difficult experiences.
This training is part of GCMHP's efforts to develop the skills of mental health service providers, contributing to the improvement of the quality of specialized psychological interventions provided to children and their families in the Gaza Strip.
