GCMHP finalizes a Training Course entitled "The Psychological First Aid for Adults and Children"
In cooperation with SOS Children's Villages in Rafah, the Training and Research Department of GCMHP finalized a training course entitled "The Psychological First Aid for Adults and Children" with the participation of 18 staff members working at the SOS. The training course which was implemented by Mr. Abdelhamid Muhareb, a Psychologist at GCMHP, included the following topics: the psychological first aid and PTSD concepts, ways of providing psychological assistance using first aid and self-care mechanisms, in addition to practical applications. The training took place at the Lighthouse restaurant in Gaza city.
During the closing ceremony, Mr. Muhareb appreciated the trainees’ commitment and active participation in the training, wishing to apply what they have learnt in their practical life. Further, Mr. Muhareb stressed on the importance of the ongoing cooperation between GCMHP and SOS.
Furthermore, Mr. Sami Ajjour, a Program Manager at SOS, attended the closing ceremony in which he expressed his deep gratitude for GCMHP, hoping to achieve a mutual work between GCMHP and SOS.
On their turn, the trainees thanked GCMHP for this effective experience they had, requesting to implement more training in different fields such as: techniques of dealing with traumatized children and teenagers, psychological support, the loss, divorce anxiety, behavioral problems of children and teenagers such as rebellion, stubbornness and aggression, modern educational methods, alternatives for psychical punishment and positive upbringing and self-care for mothers.
In the end, certificates and training materials were handed to the trainees.
