Gaza Community Mental Health Programme finalized a training entitled “Brief Recovery for Trauma Survivors”
Recently, the Training and Scientific Research Department at GCMHP finalized a training entitled “Brief Recovery for Trauma Survivors”.The training is conducted in cooperation with Médecins du Monde France, ( MDM). The trainees were 9 social workers working at Médecins du Monde’s partner institutions. The training course was conducted by a number of specialists working at GCMHP and took place at Gaza Community Mental Health Programme.
The finalization of this training was in the presence of Ms. Rawya Hamam, Head of the Training and Research Department at GCMHP, Mr. Hassan Zeyada, Head of Gaza Community Centre, Mr. Osama Abdo, Mental Health Manger at MDM, Ms. Heba El- Sharif , Field Coordinator at MDM.
Moreover, the thirty- hour training, which lasted for five days focused on acquainting the trainees with the needed skills and information about many important topics such as: DSM5, trauma and stressor related disorders, PTSD, and brief recovery for trauma survivors.
During the last training day Ms. Hamam and Mr. Zeyada thanked the trainees for their commitment and sense of responsibility towards the beneficiaries they are intervening with. They also thanked MDM – France representatives; stressing that this training which is conducted for the first time in Gaza Strip is unique. It helps the trainees to become distinguished during their intervention with the beneficiaries.
On their turn, Ms. El Sharif and Mr. Abdo thanked the Programme for this opportunity, and for conducting this valuable training. They also thanked the trainees for their commitment and seriousness, stressing that it’s important to apply the skills they acquired . The trainees also expressed their satisfaction and thanks to everyone involved in the implementation of this training.
