Gaza Community Mental Health Programme finalized a training course entitled "Psychological First Aid for children"
In cooperation with the Palestinian Early Childhood Education Programme (PECEP), the Training and Scientific Research Department at GCMHP finalized a training course entitled " Psychological First Aid for children". The participants in this training course were 20 KG teachers working at kindergartens. The training course took place at Gaza Community Centre.
The five- day training course consisted of 25 training hours. It discussed different important topics including: introduction to children psychological first aid and its principles, communication techniques used with children, how to communicate with the affected children families and clarifying the importance of their role in dealing with their children, in addition to stress management and self-care techniques.
During the finalization of the training course, Ms. Rawya Hamam, Director of the Training and Research Department thanked the participants for their attendance and commitment to the training. She also thanked the trainers who participated in the training, stressing on the importance of the topics discussed during the training.
At the end of the training course, the participants thanked the Programme for conducting such important training courses. They also requested GCMHP to conduct more training courses. Finally, Ms. Hamam and the trainers distributed the certificates on the participants.
