Gaza Community Mental Health Programme Finalized a Series of Workshops on Psychodrama for Children
The Training and Research Department of GCMHP finalized a series of workshops on psychodrama for children. The participants were 27 professionals from GCMHP and other partner organizations including the Ministry of Education, Al Qattan Foundation, Culture and Free Thought Association, Islamic Relief, Palestinian Medical Relief Society, and Aisha Association for Women and Child Protection. The finalization of the workshops was in the presence of Dr. Yasser Abu Jamei, Director General of GCMHP, Ms. Rawya Hamam, Director of the Training and Scientific Research Department, Ms. Enas Jouda, Head of the Training and Capacity Building Unit at GCMHP, and Ms. Ensherah Zaqout, a Local Psychodrama Trainer. The Psychodrama training was conducted by the German psychodrama experts, Agnes Dudler, Dr. Fabian Blobel, and Dr. Stephan Flegelskamp, Child and Adolescents Doctor.
Throughout the five-day-training, the trainers used several training techniques such as: psychodrama warm up activities. The trainees raised several questions and inquires on how to work with children. Dr. Blobel introduced the key techniques used with children and adolescent including psychological psychometric exercises, explaining the dynamic of working in groups, and the impact of psychological stress on the brain.
At the end of the workshop, Dr. Yasser Abu Jamei, Ms. Rawya Hamam, and Ms. Enas Jouda, handed the delegates and the participants certificates of appreciation.
